TEMPEST
“The Tracks We Leave”
"I am thoroughly delighted with this recording! I have been a fan of Tempest for quite a long time, and they have never put out a bad recording, though I have liked some more than others. The Tracks We Leave is my favorite thus far. While vocalist Lief Sorbye and drummer Adolfo Lazo have been consistent throughout Tempest's career, the rest of the lineup has changed several times, and at the moment they have an absolutely superb, synergistic mix of musicians with Kathy Buys on fiddle, Greg Jones on guitar, and Josh Fossgreen on bass. As is their usual format, there's a nice mix of traditional and original material, showcasing both Celtic and Norwegian roots. My personal favorite is Rantin' Rovin' Robin just because, previously, I couldn't stand this song, it sounded very sing-songy nursery-rhyme-ish, kiddie music, in every other version I'd heard. Tempest has redeemed it and then some, and Sorbye's voice is perfectly suited to the song.
Tempest should be very proud of this recording. I like every single one of the Tracks They Leave!"

A great big thank you to everybody who came out to the Tempest 4-piece acoustic shows, we sure packed them in!
It was a blast to play these stripped down gigs, but know it’s time to plug in and welcome our great new guitar player Mr. Ab Menon! We bid Greg a fond farewell and wish him the best of luck on his new adventures. Ab is ready to start rocking, and will be making his Tempest debut this Saturdayin Berkeley – kicking it off at The Starry Plough, just like the band itself did, all those years ago. So come on out and help us give him a rollicking good welcome!
